What reassurance can you offer us?
  19. Where are you based?

1. Who are You?

TenPercent Unlimited is owned by Ten-Percent.co.uk Limited, a legal recruitment consultancy specialising in the recruitment of solicitors and fee
earners, and part of the Ten-Percent group of websites. We are called TenPercent because of our commitment to donating 10% of our company profits to a charitable
trust called the Ten-Percent Foundation on an annual basis. We are called Unlimited because we offer unlimited legal recruitment to law firms and in house
departments at very low cost.

2. How much do you charge?

We charge from just £60 per month plus VAT for a period of 5 years. The price depends on a number of factors including size of firm, number of offices, number of partners, turnover, staffing levels, location and type of work undertaken. You must have less than 100 staff and a turnover of less than £1 million in order to apply.

3. How many CVs do you have on your books?

We are unable to say, simply because we have access to various live candidate databases. Our own database, which contains Solicitors, Legal Executives, Fee Earners, Licensed Conveyancers, Partners, Barristers, Legal Cashiers, Costs Draftsmen and Support Staff, contains approximately 10,000+ candidates at any one time. We also have links to www.chancerylane.co.uk, an online legal jobs board you will have access to as part of TenPercent Unlimited, and there are usually an additional 1,000 fee earners with CVs uploaded on that site. Similarly we have access to other job boards that contain approximately three million CVs of all shapes and sizes.

4. Does Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment, the conventional legal recruitment agency, hold any CVs back?

No. We provide all candidates with updates on new vacancies posted, which include both our own agency vacancies and those of TenPercent Unlimited clients. All candidates are posted onto our Online Candidate Database, and every client has the opportunity to request a CV for each one.

5. What Guarantees can you offer?

None at all. There is no feasible way to ever guarantee recruitment. A firm looking for a fluent French speaking Commercial Property Solicitor with 20 years experience and wanting a salary of £25,000 is not going to get very far regardless of how many guarantees we give!  TenPercent Unlimited is risk-free so far as agency fees are concerned. If you recruit a candidate and they leave, you simply recruit another one.If you use standard recruitment agencies and a candidate leaves within 6 months, you lose a lot of money.

6. Why should we pay for your service when we can use a job board?

A Job Board will charge you a rate of at least £400+ per month without any guarantees of recruiting, a price per vacancy, no access to a high quality specialist Legal Candidate Database and no passive candidates. The main problem with job boards is that the vast majority of applicants are completely unsuitable and applying for jobs they are not qualified to do. Furthermore you tend to only access people applying who are actively looking at present (ie they are currently out of work or facing redundancy) and you will not tend to get good quality candidates posting their CVs to be searched onto the job board, as such candidates are usually concerned about confidentiality issues.

7. Why should we pay for this service when we can get a recruitment agency to do all the work?

You can use the service in the same way as if you were using a standard agency. We can arrange interviews, get involved in salary negotiations etc.. Some clients like this, others prefer to do it themselves.

8. Do you disclose the Candidate Identities?

No. Under no circumstances are any candidates at any time identified to you through the online candidate database without their express consent. Our system enables you to search for CVs, request & receive copies of these CVs and subsequently to request contact with Candidates. Each candidate has to approve their contact details being released, together with their employers and previous employers. All new CVs and applications are sent through with full contact information once we have consent from the Candidates.

9. How do we contact Candidates?

Any applicants to job posts are forwarded straight through to you in full, which gives you a full CV from the outset, and candidates from our Online Candidate Database are contactable by text message, email, post and telephone.

10. How do we know we will find someone suitable?

You don’t. However it is highly likely; provided you do not have any requirements that are not possible. For example, you cannot realistically expect the service to produce 3 Russian-speaking Solicitors with individual followings worth £500k each prepared to work on a profit sharing basis.

11. What happens if we don’t find anyone suitable for our job(s)?

We keep trying for you. There are no guarantees, but over 100 law firms are signed up already and we usually supply CVs for just about every vacancy.

12. We already use a few recruitment agencies and advertise our jobs in the Law Society Gazette. Why would we want to use TenPercent Unlimited?

We are the fourth option. Feel free to use the service alongside other options to start with. We will advertise your legal job vacancies on various job boards as part of the service. Besides, if we even fill one vacancy for you at a salary of more than £20,000 you will have already saved a considerable amount on employment agency fees. What have you got to lose?

13. How do I know that your CVs are updated regularly?

Our Candidate Database contains active and passive candidates, with a large number staying with our main agency, Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment, for many years. Our brand is trusted amongst solicitors and law firms, and we have been around for a very long time in recruitment terms (Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment was established in April 2000). Some of our candidates keep in touch regularly, others will get in touch as and when they need to over time.  It is in our interests for Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment to keep the Candidate Database up to date as possible as we use the database to recruit from on a daily basis.

14. Do  I get notifications of new additions to the Candidate Database?

Yes if candidates are relevant to your vacancy. Every new candidate who registers with us automatically gets details of vacancies suitable for them – these include all TenPercent Unlimited
vacancies. We also forward through any CVs that may fit your particular vacancy as the CVs get posted into the Candidate Database. We usually register an additional 20-40 CVs each week for qualified or experienced fee earners.

15. What happens if a candidate joins us, but then leaves?

You recruit again, at no extra cost.

16. What happens if candidates do not get back in touch when we contact them?

Whilst we make every effort to ensure candidates get back in touch when enquiries are made by clients, we cannot compel them to. Most candidates will respond simply to say that they are interested or do not wish to take matters further.

17. Why are you offering this service at such a low price and particularly when you are linked to a legal recruitment agency, Ten-Percent Legal Recruitment?

Because we see a gap in the market for a company to offer an online service at an online price. There is no reason to pay agency fees per candidate anymore unless you are looking for something specific or require the legal recruitment agency to take over the whole process. We can have CVs sat in your inbox in a matter of minutes from you deciding to go ahead with the service.

18. We are slightly hesitant to commit to this service.

Don’t be! The service is used regularly by a range of solicitors firms, from sole practitioners through to medium sized central London practices.

19. Where are you based?

TenPercent Unlimited is located in London and North Wales. Our administration work is undertaken out of our offices in North Wales. All our staff are experienced legal recruiters. One of our recruitment consultants deals solely with Ten Percent Unlimited vacancies on a full time basis.
